 Colleen explored the many different career options available to her after completing her Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University, Toronto. Drawn west by the beautiful scenery and quality of life seven years ago, Colleen adopted Vancouver as her new home. She settled into an Administrative Management position in the development department of a leading software company based in Richmond. After six years at the company, Colleen found herself at a crossroads; should she lead a "normal" corporate life or follow the entrepreneurial spirit that had quietly directed all her the major decisions? Unhappy with the routine and seemingly unrewarding career she was in, the entrepreneur would be no longer be suppressed and Colleen embarked on creating what is now known as Scarlet Letter Designs Inc.
Gift giving and shopping are two of Colleen's favorite pastimes. Finding the "perfect" gift for everyone on her list is a priority and ensuring it is unique and appropriate - her mission. However as everyone who does Christmas or birthday shopping knows, it is not always easy, especially when you have a tough customer; someone who is particular or has everything.
With the help of her long time friend and business partner, Michelle Freeman, and the motivation and support of the Toward Excellence team, the Scarlet Letter concept was born: a monogram boutique that is dedicated to providing its customers with unique and personalized, fashion-forward gift solutions to help make shopping for "the impossible" possible. By focusing on the individual, Scarlet Letter helps people create their own unique signature style.
