Elaine Hirtle,
Mosaica Designs, Home and Garden Accessories Featuring Hand Crafted Mosaic Art

Elaine has a background in art. She attended Okanagan College and Kwantlen College to earn her Associate Degree in Graph Art and Design. She worked as a graphic artist for ten years until becoming a recent casualty of "downsizing". She seized the opportunity to turn her attention to creating her own designs with mosaic tile - which has always intrigued her.

A friend told her about the Design Your Future Program with Toward Excellence which she took in April 2002. It allowed her to look at the option of creating her own business to produce and sell her own art pieces. She went on to attend the Self-Employment Program and is following her heart.

Her mission is "Adding Beauty and Harmony to the Home Environment, One Piece at a Time". Elaine has a studio in Parksville on Vancouver Island and display's at Qualicum House gift gallery in Port Alberni.

She found the SE Program extremely valuable and recommends it to anyone thinking about following the path to creating their own life - doing what they love!
