Fashion Designer/Consultant and Principal of "Outside the Box Design"

Jane Nemis began her career in the apparel industry in Toronto, Ontario in 1989. She honed her design and product management skills over the years with many major manufacturing and retail accounts in all price areas. She lives and works in Vancouver today where she established “Outside the Box Design” in October 2003. The company addresses the need for design expertise required by smaller businesses that cannot afford a full-time designer/consultant.

Outside the Box Design specializes in design and consulting, assisting new businesses in the fashion industry, as well as the new and expanding field of eco and environmental design. This has been incredibly rewarding and it has assisted in the expansion of the design industry in Vancouver.

Jane has continued to see new opportunities for growth and she has widened her range of skills and product knowledge, while adapting to meet the needs of the evolving industry. She believes strongly in maintaining an apparel industry in Canada and the potential for growth and innovation in Canadian design. She believes assisting those starting out and sharing her knowledge makes for a better industry overall and adds to the talent being recognized around the world.
